PA-CF (Carbon Fiber Reinforced Nylon) is one of the most-used 3D printing materials. In plain terms: carbon fiber strength with stunning rigidity.
VOXFIL PA-CF blends nylon with 15% chopped carbon fiber for extreme stiffness, dimensional stability and a premium matte black finish. Parts hold tight tolerances and resist creep — the choice for drone frames, brackets and high-performance jigs.
Key properties of PA-CF
| Filament diameter | 1.75 mm ±0.02 |
|---|---|
| Density | 1.21 g/cm³ |
| Nozzle temperature | 260 – 290 °C |
| Bed temperature | 70 – 90 °C |
| Print speed | 30 – 60 mm/s |
| Cooling fan | Low (10 – 30%) |
| Heat deflection (HDT) | 110 °C |
| Tensile strength | 92 MPa |
| Flexural modulus | 6.2 GPa |
| Drying | Mandatory — dry 8 h @ 80 °C |
| Glass transition (Tg) | 75 °C (dry) |
| Recommended nozzle | Hardened steel or ruby — required (abrasive) |
| Storage | Dry box mandatory, below 20% RH |
How to print PA-CF
- Nozzle: 260 – 290 °C, hardened steel nozzle required
- Bed: 70 – 90 °C, enclosure recommended
- Speed: 30 – 60 mm/s
- Abrasive — use hardened nozzle, never brass
Best applications for PA-CF
- Drone & RC frames
- Lightweight structural brackets
- High-tolerance fixtures
- Automotive underhood parts
- Robotics components
Best for: The stiffest, most dimensionally stable prints we make.
