Filament has international conventions worth knowing before you buy: diameter, spool form and net weight.
Diameter: 1.75 mm is the standard
Modern printers (Bambu Lab, Prusa, Creality, Voron, Anycubic) use 1.75 mm. Older machines (some Ultimaker, BigRep) use 2.85 mm. Always match diameter to the printer — the slicer assumes exact cross-section.
Net weights and spools
| Format | Use case |
|---|---|
| 1 kg | Retail standard |
| 3 kg jumbo | Farms, schools — fewer changeovers |
| 5 kg bulk | Print-farm economics (up to 15% cheaper/kg) |
| Refills / coils | Dry-box fleets, eco packaging |
Compatibility checklist
- Diameter 1.75 mm (check your printer)
- Spool inner diameter fits your holder/AMS (check 50–56 mm hubs)
- Cardboard spools are eco-friendly and recyclable
VOXFIL supplies 1.75 mm in 1/3/5 kg with recyclable cardboard spools — see per-kg pricing.
